Our Approach

We recognise the importance of ensuring that our clients recover their contractual entitlements on all projects they are engaged on. As such on appointment, our team work closely with our clients to review and consider the unique aspects that occur on every project. From immersing ourselves as part of the bid team, to analysing contract allowances through to procurement and the post contract phases, we are involved at every stage of the project.

Our approach is founded on understanding the needs and priorities of our clients and ensuring that these are met. We look to add value throughout the course of all our appointments and to utilise innovation as well as standard approaches to the cost management of the projects that we are involved with.


Evaluation’s contractor commercial management team is led by Matthew O’Connor O’Connor and Lukasz Udala. Matthew has 15 years’ experience and Lukasz has 16 years’ experience. Both are Chartered Quantity Surveyors and have considerable experience in running large teams on complex MEP projects in a variety of sectors.

Each appointment is led by a member of the leadership team and delivered by staff who are motivated and have a high level of technical ability whilst sharing our ideals of professionalism, integrity and respect. The wide range of skills, knowledge and experience available within the team ensures that appointments are undertaken in a manner that allows us to adopt our approach as required to help ensure that the client’s objectives are achieved.

A number of our personnel have considerable experience in the PQS field, which provides a useful insight into the expectations of the ultimate clients’ expectations and allow them to be managed appropriately. Our experienced teams are able to successfully manage any size of specialist MEP project having successfully prepared and agreed tenders, and subsequently managed projects in excess of £50million through to completion. Our teams are carefully selected for each commission with a considered blend of experience to ensure that they are ideally suited to each individual project and appointment.

Analysis of the contract sum into component parts

Procurement of plant and subcontract packages

Preparation of work-in-progress documentation

Assessment and agreement of change values (variations, compensation events etc.)

Financial management of subcontractor accounts

Preparation of documentation in support of entitlements arising as a consequence of the disruption, prolongation or acceleration of the works
